Limitations

Thermal image processing

  • Nadir capture processing and 2D reconstruction generations are supported.

  • Calibration of oblique captures and generation of 3D reconstructions are not guaranteed to succeed and are not supported.

  • Thermal images must be at least 640x512 pixels.

  • FLIR-manufactured thermal camera originated images are not to be modified by a third party prior to processing.

  • Not all thermal cameras listed in the documentation have been individually tested.

  • Support is based on image format and metadata.

  • Autel thermal cameras are not supported.

  • DJI radiometric JPEG (R-JPEG) processing without the DJI Thermal SDK does not produce correct temperatures.

  • Thermal processing of DJI datasets were tested with DJI Thermal SDK v1.7.0.

Miscellaneous

  • Multi-page images are not supported. cameras.make_input_cameras() skips them with a DUPLICATE_IMAGE warning (the actual unsupported condition is the multi-page content).

  • When exporting a point cloud in the LAS format (version 1.2 or version 1.4) with the DERIVEDPROJCRS type of a spatial reference system, the following warning message is printed to stdout: (writers.las Error) GDAL failure (1) PROJ: proj_as_wkt: DerivedProjectedCRS can only be exported to WKT2:2019. Then, for LAS version 1.4 only, an exception with the following message is raised: Couldn't convert spatial reference to WKT version 1.. This is due to the absence of support for the WKT2 standard in the LAS format.

  • Some invalid combinations of horizontal SRS with vertical SRS and geoid may execute the corresponding transformation without issuing any error diagnostics (exceptions or log messages).
