Glossary¶
Sensor An image sensor of a physical digital camera.
Image Pixel data and meta-data generated by a sensor.
Camera A shot taken by a sensor with a given pose (position and orientation).
Capture An image acquisition event represented as a set of the participating cameras combined with spatial and temporal information.
Camera ID A unique identifier of a camera determined as a function of the image content of the camera.
Camera model database A database of physical camera models and their pre-calibrated internal parameters.
Input camera A camera with the pieces of information it represents in their original form, that is, as they were captured or registered in the camera model database.
Projected camera An input camera spatially adjusted with respect to the chosen projected coordinate reference frame.
Calibrated camera A camera whose internal and external parameters are calibrated.
Calibration The process of calibrating cameras and reconstructing the captured scene as a sparse 3D point cloud.
Densification The process of obtaining a densified point cloud from a sparse point cloud and calibrated cameras.
